Update:
This new version of the demo has many small tweaks that I hope will add up to a better experience for everyone. Check the dev log for an in depth explanation of all of the changes. If you play the demo I'd love to hear what you think, especially if you played the previous demo and found it too difficult.
Game Description:
Color Story: Pixa's Quest is a 2d platformer starring Pixa, who on her 16th birthday discovers she can control the magical powers of color. But its not all rainbows for Pixa, as she learns that the threat of an evil wizard named Earl Grey looms ahead. You'll need to master all of the magic abilities to run, jump, and attack your way through this game. Color story: Pixa's Quest features hand drawn graphics and animations.
Contents of the Demo:
The new demo includes the first level of the game and could take from 30-60 minutes to beat depending on your skill level. The level includes a forest section and temple section, plus you'll acquire 3 magic abilities and face off against a boss at the end. Can you collect all 7 prism shards in the level?

I really like the art and the feel of the game! The style is so cool!
hey thanks! Really appreciate it
Hey there! I've played this a little and it's really fun! The only issue I have is the rolling when you hit the ground, I can see how it can be used to get yourself moving quicker in places, but it also made me lose footing at times when it came to avoiding smaller ditches with platforms. Maybe if you had the option to hold down a button as you hit the ground, it could perform the roll tech, which I see is one of the signature moves in the game. That aside though, this has the perfect difficulty I think for a demo, and I again found myself having a lot of fun with this! The artwork and backgrounds are great, and the music was fantastic! Really dig the Metroidvania style, keep it up and I can't wait to play more later!
hey thanks for playing and for the feedback! I’ve been thinking about your suggestion on the roll move, I could try adding an option that would require you to hold a button to roll, my only concern is I don’t want to add any extra buttons and the button that I think would make most sense to need to hold down is the jump key but I worry that might get weird once you unlock the double jump.
I’ll give it a try though and see how it feels since it’ll be pretty easy to test out. You are able to stop rolling if you release the directional key/joystick. It is probably the bit about the game that’s tricky to get the hang of but it is pretty fun once you get the hang of it and can take advantage of the extra speed.
again, thanks for playing
Looking good
