Version 2.2 - Difficulty Changes


A number of changes have been made to make the demo a little bit easier:

Saving:

A quick and dirty save system has been added. Pressing escape to exit the game (while in the level, not on the title screen), will automatically save the game. From the title screen you can select a new file or resume from your save. Note that your save file will be overwritten any time you escape the game from within the level. You can return to the title screen without saving from the pause menu.

Enemy and Obstacle Changes:

A number of enemies have been removed from the first area of the level (the forest section). Additionally, a number of bottomless pits around more difficult jumps have been changed to spike pits. Since spikes don't result in instant death this makes these areas a bit easier.

Easier Roll Jump:

The timing window to jump during a roll/somersault to get the speed and height boost has been doubled.

More Lenient Wall Jumping:

Normally to do a wall jump you must be pressed against a wall, holding the direction towards that wall and jump. Some leniency has been added: Now, if you are moving towards a wall and press jump, the game will still register a wall jump even if you are not touching the wall as long as you are close enough. You will also retain the sliding animation and be able to wall jump for a split second if you are pressed against a wall and release the directional key/joystick.

Less Slippery Slide Attack:

If you do the slide attack and reach the ledge of a platform Pixa will automatically stop moving before falling off. Pixa can still slide off of a platform, however, if you are already part way off a ledge when you start the slide. Also, when you slide off a platform Pixa's slide speed is reduced to 1/3 the normal slide speed. This way you aren't launched as far from the platform and can potentially recover if you slid off unintentionally.
